1.How to get sticker residue off laptop?

When a lot of people get their computer, they want to make their laptop look more personal and better, so they put stickers on their computer, but stickers can be stubborn, whether you want to tear off the manufacturer's sticker Or stickers for personalizing your laptop. Start by slowly peeling off the sticker with a fingernail, credit card, or thin plastic putty knife. If sticky residue is left, wipe it off with a microfiber cloth and water. If water doesn't do the trick, try rubbing alcohol, diluted vinegar, or a mild scrub. There are actually many ways to easily remove stickers, and the most difficult stickers are not your opponent!

1.1 Scratch off the sticker

1）If the sticker has been there for less than a year, try scraping it off. If the sticker is relatively new, you should be able to remove it without leaving too much (if any) sticky residue. However, over time, the adhesive separates from the printed material, which makes the sticker more difficult to peel clean.
If your stickers have been in place for a year or more, you may need to use water, alcohol, or other cleaners to remove any remaining adhesive.

2）Start peeling from one corner of the sticker. Work on the corners with your fingernails until they are lifted off the surface of the laptop. If your nails are cut short, use a thin plastic putty knife or a credit or debit card.
If you use a putty knife or credit card, be careful not to scratch the surface of the laptop. Move the putty knife or card slowly rather than vigorously, and try not to force it into the surface of the laptop. Be sure to use plastic knives or cards instead of metal tools.

3）Slowly pull up the sticker from the peeled corner. As you pull up the raised edge, try to work your fingernail at the point where the sticker meets the laptop to help keep the sticker intact. Peel slowly until you remove the sticker from the laptop.
Peeling quickly and pulling hard on the raised edge may tear the sticker or increase the chance of leaving residue.

1.2 Wipe off the adhesive

1)Shut down the computer and unplug it from the power source. If you haven't already, turn it off and unplug it before attacking the adhesive. If you can remove the battery, it's also a good idea to remove the battery while you're cleaning the laptop.
You'll be using water or other liquids to clean your laptop, and you don't want to risk giving yourself an electric shock or damaging your computer.

2)Try wiping the adhesive off with a damp, lint-free cloth first. Soak a clean microfiber cloth in hot water and wring it out. Use tight circular motions and rub the sticky areas hard. With a little elbow grease, you should be able to wipe off the residue in a few minutes.
Be careful not to allow moisture to enter any openings in the laptop. Damage due to liquids is generally not covered under warranty. With any cleaning project, it's wise to start with the gentlest method available. This way, there is less risk of you changing or damaging the finish of the surface you are cleaning.

3)If necessary, put a drop of mild dish soap on the cloth. If the area still feels sticky or tacky, dip the cloth in hot water again and squeeze a drop of dish soap onto the corner. Gently rub the corners with your fingertips to lather the soap, then wipe the sticky areas.
When you're done, use the non-soap portion of the damp cloth to remove any suds.
Never pour dish soap, spray, or any other cleaning agent directly on the laptop. Always wipe the cleaner with a cloth.

4)Wipe the surface with a dry cloth when finished. After wiping down the adhesive, dry the surface with another clean, lint-free cloth. Drying the area can help prevent streaks, especially if you're ripping large stickers off the laptop case.

1.3 Deal with stubborn residue

1)If a damp cloth doesn't work, use 90% rubbing alcohol. To remove stubborn adhesive residue, dip a corner of a microfiber cloth in rubbing alcohol. Again, use a tight circular motion to wipe off the sticker glue.
If you don't have rubbing alcohol, use a 1:1 mixture of white vinegar and warm water. Vodka works great in a pinch too!

2)If wiping doesn't work, place an alcohol-soaked cloth over the area. If glue remains, dip the cloth in the alcohol (or vinegar diluted with water) again. Place the cloth on the sticky area and let it sit for 2 to 3 minutes. This should dissolve any remaining stubborn slime.
Rubbing alcohol should not discolor or damage the plastic or aluminum used in the laptop case. However, if you want to stay safe, check the area every 30 to 60 seconds.

3)If you don't have alcohol, slide the tape over the sticky residue. Cut 2 to 3 inches (5.1 to 7.6 cm) of tape (or other sturdy tape). Fold a small portion of the end over to make a non-stick handle, then rub the sticky side of the tape over the adhesive residue. If the tape is still sticky after applying it, wipe it off with a cloth dampened in hot water or rubbing alcohol.

4)If a cloth doesn't work, try a mild abrasive scrubbing pad. Using gentle pressure, use a nylon or melamine foam scrubbing pad (such as Mr. Clean Magic Eraser) to wipe the sticky spots. Soak it in water first and try again. If water alone doesn't remove the sticky substance, try adding a drop of dish soap or rubbing alcohol on the pads.
Dab the sticky areas lightly with a sanding pad. The nylon and melamine foam scrubbing pads are slightly abrasive, so be careful not to scratch the surface of the laptop.

5)If all else fails, use a blow dryer to blow away the sticky stuff. A blow dryer can melt and loosen glue, but it should be one of the last things you try. Set it to low or medium and aim it at the trash for about 30 seconds. Then see if you can use a cloth, putty knife, or credit card to remove any remaining residue.
Even if your computer is turned off and unplugged, you don't want to risk overheating or damaging its internals. Stick to a low or medium setting and use it every 30 seconds to keep your laptop from overheating.

Notes:

1)If there is more than one rounded corner on the sticker, tear one corner first. If you accidentally tear it, start over with the other fillets.
2)With patience, you will be able to successfully remove all the stickers. Remember to move slowly and steadily. If you encounter difficulties and feel upset, put it aside for a while and start again when you regain your patience.
3)Try to use tools that won't harm the laptop. Nails, erasers, plastic putty knives, plastic guitar picks, nonstick spatulas, and even tweezers (as long as they are used with care) are all relatively safe tools that will minimize damage to the surface of your computer.
4)Mixing equal parts vegetable oil and baking soda makes a non-toxic glue remover. Let the mixture sit for 10 minutes, then apply to the glue residue. With just a rub with your finger, any glue residue can be easily removed without leaving any traces.

Warnings:

1)Over time, the heat from the computer can cause the adhesive on the sticker to bond more and more tightly to the computer case, and eventually even penetrate the computer's coating, leaving a permanent mark on some plastic or brushed aluminum cases.
2)OEM license stickers cannot be torn off, and some will become invalid once they are torn off.
3)Removing the sticker with a sharp or hard tool can scratch the case of the laptop.
4)Do not let any liquid get into the crevices or exposed parts of the computer, such as the keyboard. Some liquids can conduct electricity and cause a short circuit in the computer.
5)Always turn off the computer and unplug the power cord before performing any of the above steps. If possible, remove the battery from the computer as well.

1)Tweezers to lift stubborn stickers.
2)Alcohol or citric acid-based cleaners such as "Goo-Gone".
3)A kitchen towel, napkin, or rag to use with the cleaner.
4)Tape used to remove adhesive residue, such as duct tape.
