You can connect your Mac or PC to a personal hotspot using Wi-Fi, a USB cable, or Bluetooth. Do one of the following:
- Use Wi-Fi access from a Mac: Click the Wi-Fi status menu in the menu bar, then choose your iPhone from the list of available networks.If prompted for a passcode, enter the passcode displayed on your iPhone in Settings > Personal Hotspot.As long as your Mac is connected to Personal Hotspot, the Wi-Fi status icon in the menu bar changes to the Personal Hotspot icon.
Note: When you're signed in with the same Apple ID on your Mac and iPhone, and both have Bluetooth and Wi-Fi turned on, you don't need to enter a password to connect the device to your personal hotspot.
- Using Wi-Fi access from a PC: Choose your iPhone in Wi-Fi settings on your PC, then enter the password displayed in Settings > Personal Hotspot on your iPhone.
- Using USB Cable:
- Tethering your iPhone and windows laptop computer with a usb cable. If you're prompted "Do you want to trust this computer?", tap Trust.
- Click to open the "Cellular Network" option in the phone settings.
- Click to open "Personal Hotspot" in the pop-up window.
- In the pop-up interface, select "USB only" connection to share WiFi to the computer.
- Using Bluetooth:To make sure your iPhone is discoverable, go to Settings > Bluetooth and keep this screen on. Then on your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Bluetooth, select your iPhone, then click Connect. On iPhone, tap your Mac's name, then follow the onscreen instructions on your Mac.
Connect your iPad, iPod touch or other iPhone to your Personal Hotspot
On the other device, go to Settings > Wi-Fi, then choose your iPhone from the list of available networks.
If another device prompts you for a passcode, enter the passcode displayed on your iPhone in Settings > Personal Hotspot.
Note: When you're signed in with the same Apple ID on each device, and Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are turned on, you don't need to enter a password to connect your devices.When the device is connected, a blue band will appear at the top of the iPhone screen. The Personal Hotspot icon appears in the status bar of connected devices.
